Haggai · Chapter 1

In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) by Haggai the navi unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Yehoshua the son of Josedech, the high kohen, saying,
Thus speaketh 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH)’S house should be built.
Then came the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) by Haggai the navi, saying,
Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?
Now therefore thus saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts; Consider your ways.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
Thus saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts; Consider your ways.
Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH).
Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
Therefore the shamayim over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.
And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Yehoshua the son of Josedech, the high kohen, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) their Elohim, and the words of Haggai the navi, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) their Elohim had sent him, and the people did fear before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH).
Then spake Haggai 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH)’S messenger in 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH)’S message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH).
And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Yehoshua the son of Josedech, the high kohen, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts, their Elohim,
In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.

Haggai · Chapter 2

In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) by the navi Haggai, saying,
Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Yehoshua the son of Josedech, the high kohen, and to the residue of the people, saying,
Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?
Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH); and be strong, O Yehoshua, son of Josedech, the high kohen; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH), and work: for I am with you, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts:
According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Mitsrayim, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.
For thus saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the shamayim, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;
And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts.
The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts.
The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts.
In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) by Haggai the navi, saying,
Thus saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts; Ask now the kohanim concerning the torah, saying,
If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the kohanim answered and said, No.
Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the kohanim answered and said, It shall be unclean.
Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH); and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.
And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the heikhal of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH):
Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty.
I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH).
Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH)’S heikhal was laid, consider it.
Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.
And again the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying,
Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the shamayim and the earth;
And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
In that day, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH), and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts.

Zechariah · Chapter 1

In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the navi, saying,
𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) hath been sore displeased with your fathers.
Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts.
Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former nevi'im have cried, saying, Thus saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH).
Your fathers, where are they? and the nevi'im, do they live for ever?
But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the nevi'im, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the navi, saying,
I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.
Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the mal'akh that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.
And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
And they answered the mal'akh of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.
Then the mal'akh of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) answered and said, O 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Yerushalayim and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?
And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) answered the mal'akh that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.
So the mal'akh that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts; I am jealous for Yerushalayim and for Tsiyon with a great jealousy.
And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.
Therefore thus saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH); I am returned to Yerushalayim with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Yerushalayim.
Cry yet, saying, Thus saith 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) shall yet comfort Tsiyon, and shall yet choose Yerushalayim.
Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
And I said unto the mal'akh that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Yisra'el, and Yerushalayim.
And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) shewed me four carpenters.
Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
